William John Gerrish

William was born at Rumney, Monmouth in 1883, the son of Thomas and Edith Ann Gerrish. Thomas was a ships carpenter. William married Tabitha Eliza Morris on 21^st August 1905 at Lanllywenfel. She was originally from Stowe, Radnorshire. In 1911 the family are living ayt  Aberbutram, Garth. He is listed as a rural postman, they had two sons, Ethilbert aged 4 and Athelstan aged 1.

He died on the 4^th February 1920 aged 37 and was buried on the 9^th February at Llanllyenfel. His address at the time was 1 Post Office Terrace Garth. He is commemorated on the War Memorial in St Cadmarch's, Llangammarch Wells.
