Benjamin Frank Davies

Pte Benjamin Frank Davies 24361

Benjamin Davies was born in Garth in 1891, the youngest of 6 sons to Lewis and Ann Davies. His father was a coal merchant.

He enlisted on 29/5 1915 age 24, his occupation listed as a clerk. He embarked at Port Said on 14/2/1916 and disembarked at Basrah on 28/2/1916. He was wounded in action on 4/2/1917 and listed as missing and wounded on 28/3/1917.

 War Notes.  Benjamin Davies, son of Mr Lewis Davies, has been wounded in Mesopotamia and is now in hospital. His brother, who is in the Motor Transport Service, has just left for active service.

 GARTH. Wounded and Missing.—Mr Lewis Davies, Garth, has received a communication from the War Office that his son, Pte Ben Davies, has been on the list of wounded and missing since February 3rd. He was serving in Mesopotamia.
