Irfon House

It is said that for many years the shop was run by Mrs Howe whose husband was a retired Minister. Later on Mr and Mrs Daft ran the store as a general grocers they had three children all of whom are remembered as being "very brainy"

    Sarah Howe age 52, a widow and Grocer
  • 1901
    Sarah Howe - now a widow was living here with a servant / domestic, there was also a visitor – a Congregational minister from Denbigh
  • 1891
    Margaret Jones (a widow) Grocer with her married daughter Sarah Howe and a servant girl
  • 1881
    Margaret Jones, age 64, was the head of the household, she was a Grocer who lived with her daughter Sarah also a Grocer age 23
