In the 1950s the then Breconshire Council ( now Powys County Council) built a row of Council Houses in Llangammarch. They were built in 2 phases and of slightly different construction. The 1st phase had steel girders and the 2nd phase ??? was of standard construction . Prior to this, the road followed the river and curved along what is now the layby. The sixteen houses were built in a straight line between the village and the Police Station. Since Margaret Thatchers “ Right to buy “ scheme, approx 50% are now in private ownership.
